Match 1:
Derby 2 - 1 Harrogate
First match
of the season and what a start they made.
All the training came together enabling the first try to be scored by
Jack O’Callaghan. The rucks and
mauls surged forward gaining much ground allowing the ball to be passed out to
Kit MacDonald who then went on to score Derby’s second try in the first
half. Second half
Derby
still played some excellent rugby but
Harrogate
managed a try in the last few minutes. Excellent
start to this tournament.
Match 2:
Otley 3 - 0 Derby
Having
watched Otley in the previous match
Derby
knew they had to perform well.
Derby
started off well but did not perform as in the first match allowing Otley to
score the first try. Otley were a
strong team in this game not giving way to
Derby
in the scrums or line-outs. Otley
went on to score a further two tries leaving
Derby
feeling very disappointed with their performance.
Match 3:
Derby 0 - 0 Percy Park
Percy
Park
were in the lead at this stage in the competition and
Derby
knew they had to win to stay in the competition and go through to the
semi-final.
Derby
fought well and won their balls in the line-outs coming so close to scoring a
try.
Percy
Park
had to play hard to hold the
Derby
team back but unfortunately
Derby
just ran out of time.
Derby
just missed out on tries scored in the tournament leaving
Otley and
Percy
Park
to go through. The Under 10’s
can be proud of how they played today especially being their first tournament
of the season.
Well done
lads and keep up the hard work!
