20th
July'05 - The Alumni are certainly making an
impact, entering just two tournaments in 2005 they won the bowl at
Scarborough
beating the Samurai and a number of other significant teams on the way!
Again
at Stoneygate (Leicester) the Alumni reached the semi finals playing some
great rugby for a very worthy cause. This year £1,000 was raised for 20 year
old Matt Hampson, a member of Leicester Tigers 1st XV squad. Matt is suffering
from a serious neck injury which occured during an England Under 21 training
session at Northampton. He is currently undergoing treatment at Stoke
Manderville Hospital, we wish him well!

The
Alumni Invitation 7 Rugby Team is a fund raising vehicle for all rugby
players suffering from spinal injuries. It is made up of players from
across the globe and league spectrum. |

Four
Derby RFC players were privileged to be included in the squad, they are Rod
Muir, James Witcombe, James Bramwell and John Heggie.
